SEBB registration information for TSD staff

Washington state school employees have a new health insurance system and each of us must sign up no later than Nov. 15, 2019. Here is how to enroll in the School Employees Benefits Board system, also known as SEBB!

 Step 1: Read your copy of the 2020 School Employee Initial Enrollment Guide, which was sent to you in the mail. If you didn’t receive it, go to the web: https://benefitsfair.hca.wa.gov/resources.html

 Step 2: Decide who will be insured -- you and your dependents, if any. For example: You, your spouse, and your children. Be prepared to provide information to SEBB that verifies who your dependents are by having their Social Security numbers, birth certificate and, in the case of a spouse, proof of relationship (Official wedding license, federal tax return, utility bill).  Step 3: Go to the SEBB login page: https://myaccount.hca.wa.gov/auth

If you have already set up an account, log in. If not, click on the login button and follow the instructions to set up an account. Click "sign up" and enter your name and email address, then create a username and password.

Once you have gained access to the SEBB website, there is a wide range of support available to help you decide upon insurance coverage.

 Step 4: Don’t panic! We are here to help you. We only ask that you try the online tools first and then seek help from Tahoma’s Finance Office if you need additional help.

Step 5: Use SEBB’s online tools (like ALEX) to help guide you through the decision-making process to select health plans: SEBB Open Enrollment webpage: https://www.hca.wa.gov/employee-retiree-benefits/sebb-open-enrollment

Every Thursday during SEBB enrollment, the Finance Department will set aside time to assist you.  Call 425-413-3408 to make an appointment or reserve a time online by logging into the Tahoma Enrollment Workshop.

Items to bring to your appointment:

·         Work email and password (contact the technology help desk prior to your appointment if you don't have this information)

·         Dependent verification documents.

 Please note, this time has been set aside to allow employees assistance in enrolling online or help scanning documents.  These appointment times are not to go over plan comparisons.  

 

Please act now! If you do not enroll by November 15, 2019 11:59 p.m., you will be defaulted into the UMP Achieve 1 medical plan (with a $33 monthly premium), Uniform Dental Plan, MetLife vision plan, and basic life, basic AD&D, and basic LTD as a single subscriber. Your dependents will not be enrolled. You will also pay the $25 tobacco use premium surcharge in addition to your monthly medical premium.
