NEW CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEE FAQs

Will new certificated staff have mandatory inservice days?
Yes. Attendance is mandatory at the District New Teacher Orientation on August 19 & 20. Detailed information will be sent from the Teaching & Learning Department during the summer. In addition, buildings and departments may have meetings and/or trainings in August. Please contact your principal for dates.

Will I be issued a district laptop?
Yes. New certificated staff members receive a district-issued laptop through our Technology Department once their hire is approved by the Board of Directors and cleared through Human Resources. Watch your email for more information and available pick-up dates.

When will I receive and have access to my district email account?
An email account will be requested for you upon completion of your HR orientation. Instructions for set up and accessing your account will be provided in conjunction with your laptop pick-up.

When will I receive my district badge?
Badges will be available to you at the District New Teacher Orientation. Badges are used for identification purposes as well as your key to enter your assigned building.

When will I receive my contract?
Your teaching contract and provisional rider will be emailed once the Board of Directors has taken action. The 2018-2019 salary schedule can be found on our website. You will be notified when a salary schedule for 2019-2020 has been approved and is available.

Hire & Pay Dates
Your official date-of-hire is September 1. Base contracts are divided into twelve equal amounts and payable on the last business day of each month. Your first installment will begin on Monday, September 30.
