New Certificated Employee Orientation

Greetings from the Human Resources Department! We are eager to have you join our team.

The next action item is to get you started on the employment requirements.  This three-step process includes: 1) reserving your onsite orientation, 2) viewing online training modules, and 3) completing HR and payroll documents.

STEP 1: HR ORIENTATION
Reserve your 30-minute onsite orientation by clicking here.  Days and times are pre-scheduled and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  It is strongly encouraged to reserve your time slot early.  During your orientation, you will meet with a representative from Human Resources to:
 
  • Submit completed employment forms and bank documentation for direct deposit (see Step 3)
  • Provide original social security card & photo ID OR passport
  • Have picture taken for district badge and
  • Be fingerprinted and provide $50 fee (if applicable)

A take-home New Hire Benefits Letter and SEBB Initial Enrollment Guide from our Benefits Specialist, Cheryl Matava, will be provided to you during this time.  The information in the packet will explain what to expect and when.

STEP 2: SAFE SCHOOLS TRAINING
Safe Schools Training must be completed prior to your onsite orientation. The ten (10) online modules, consisting of videos and board policy documents, take approximately two to three hours to complete and can be done intermittently. Login instructions can be found here and include a link to access the program.


STEP 3: EMPLOYMENT FORMS
The following employment documents must be COMPLETED and PRINTED in their entirety prior to your onsite orientation. You will need to select each link to access each form. You may choose to complete any or all sections of the forms on paper or using a computer; however, forms must be submitted with your original signature at the time of your orientation. If you are not able to print documents at home, many libraries, community centers and copy centers provide computer rental stations for free or a nominal fee.

FORMS AND INSTRUCTIONS
Please note: The name listed on your forms must match the name listed on your social security card.

1. Conditional Employment Form
a) Print name, sign and date.

2. Direct Deposit – Authorization Agreement
a) Complete Primary Account section.
b) Attach voided check or bank documentation.

3. Fingerprint Submission Form
*If you were fingerprinted in the state of Washington prior to August 1, 2018, you are required to be reprinted. a) Complete Applicant Information. b) Bring $50 fee payable by debit/credit card OR money order.

4. Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification
a) Complete Section 1 and check box for resident status.
b) Print all pages, sign and date only page 1 (above Preparer/Translator Certification). The
        information on page 2 is for HR staff to complete.
    
5. Form W-4
a) Complete Steps 1 and 5.
b) Complete Steps 2 through 4, if applicable.
    c) Sign and date. Submit only page 1.

6. Immunization History for School Staff
a) Complete Sections A & E.
b) Sections B, C & D should be completed if providing written documentation showing proof of
immunity. Immunizations are recommended but not required as a condition of employment.
     Exemptions or missing documentation pertaining to these sections may exclude you
     from work without pay in the event of and during an outbreak.

7. National Board Bonus Information Form (if applicable)
a) Fill in blank fields.
b) Select National Board Certificate area.

8. Retirement Status Form
a) Complete Employee Information.
b) Sign and date.
